Every Step recognises that it is essential for training providers to appreciate and fully understand the individual needs of each business with which they work. We specialise in delivering training tailored to the needs of your business to ensure that you receive the most effective and focused employee development possible. We strongly believe that personalising learning and integrating it into the individual’s job role is the ideal way to balance exceptional training with the pressures of the modern workplace. The provision of vocational training is at the heart of everything that Every Step does and the majority of the services we deliver are centred around National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ’s). Stand-alone NVQ’s are available for employees of all ages, but are recommended for those over the age of 19, whom it is expected will have prior experience in the workplace. NVQ’s are offered free (government funded) and are available to employee’s aged 19+ who do not currently hold a level 2 or equivalent qualification such as 5 GCSE’s graded A to C. They are competency – based awards which reflect the core skills, knowledge and understanding that underpin a job role. Support can also be given with Basic Skills, such as literacy and numeracy, to those who require it. Initially designed with employees aged between 16 and 25 in mind, Apprenticeships are now available to employee’s of all ages (due to the introduction of Adult Apprenticeships). The aim of an Apprenticeship is to develop job abilities whilst providing relevant theory and key skills and the Apprenticeship framework is made up of five elements:
Competencies Qualification (ie NVQ) at Level 2 In relevant vocational subject. Technical Knowledge Qualification (Tech Cert) Develops employee’s skills and knowledge in the technical aspects of their job role. Functional Skills Cover a wide range of transferable skills in English, Mathematics and ICT which are used everyday in the workplace and enable employees to become more flexible and productive. Employee Rights and Responsibilites (ERR) Apprentices need to have an awareness of their rights and responsibilities, including their role and their employers role. Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS) Employees need to have an understanding of Independent enquiry, Creative thinking, Reflective learning, Team working, Self management, Effective participation.
